Multi-Gym Tyr is suitable for both home and commercial use.
Being one of our top-of-the-range multi-gyms, Tyr carries a higher price tag compared to other multi-gyms in the range, which may deter those new to strength training. It is however, a multi-gym gym with a variety of training functions, expansive cable system and heavy weight stacks, making it very suitable for anyone looking for an all-round cable machine – regardless of experience level. The 1:1 cable system is by nature heavier than 2:1 system and so, is recommended for people who already have a solid strength base.
The dual cable pulley system allows for smooth and controlled resistance training. On this product, each pulley system is connected to a 130kg weight stack. You can adjust the cable resistance by change the stack pins to a lower or higher weight plate. Each weight stack is incremental in steps of 5kg.
Multi-Gym Tyr has two fixed pulley systems at the top frame, which lift the weight stack in a 1:1 ratio. This means that you are lifting exactly the amount of weight that you chose. For example, if you position the weight stack pin at 20kg, you will lift 20kg when you pull on the cable.
The multi-gym has two further cable pulley systems that lift the weight stack. These are adjustable along the front vertical upright frame. When you place the pin in the weight stack at 20kg and you pull on one of these cable systems, you will only lift a weight of 10kg, as these are designed with a 2:1 ratio.
Why two different ratios?
1:1 and 2:1 ratio weight stacks on a cable machine offer distinct benefits for different training goals. A 1:1 ratio means the weight selected is the actual resistance you feel, ideal for building maximum strength and power. In contrast, a 2:1 ratio halves the effective resistance, offering smoother motion and greater control, which is perfect for rehabilitation, isolation exercises, or beginners. The 2:1 system also allows for finer weight increments, enabling more precise progressions and muscle engagement and it’s this ratio that you will most commonly find in a gym setting.
Multi-Gym Tyr includes an integrated Smith Machine with a 20kg barbell. As you perform exercises with this barbell, you can simply twist the bar to secure it onto the Smith machine hooks that are spaced evenly along the inside of the rack. This ensures you can always safely rack the barbell if you feel you are approaching failure and can no longer safely reposition the bar.
The multi-gym also includes removable J-hooks and spotter arms that can be fixed to the front of the product. These allow you to safely store your barbell on the rack and the spotter arms will assist in catching the bar if you can no longer raise it.

This multi-gym is designed with 75 x 75mm uprights that are 3mm thick and have an insert size of 27mm. This sizing is industry-standard, meaning there are a lot of attachments available that will be compatible with the Tyr frame. RPM Power offer a wide range of additional rack attachments that fit this frame size and therefore can be used to further expand upon the functionality of the Tyr Multi-Gym.
Ensure you have enough room at the side of the multi-gym to load and unload weight plates; and enough room at the front of the rack to load the barbell and perform cable exercises.
It’s also important you have enough ceiling clearance to raise the barbell, perform overhead exercises and use the pull-up bar.
If you are considering gym flooring to place under this product, we recommend getting approx. nine x 1m2 mats (9m2 total).
